  1. Often the best suit to lead in no trump is a suit
  2. previously led by a defensive player.  To change
  3. suits without a good reason often costs the defense
  4. in the end.  Some major considerations are:

  6. 1.  If I led the suit, did partner show a positive
  7. attitude?*
  8. 2.  Will we lose the trick, and if so will the
  9. offense make their contract?
  10. 3.  My position at the table and dummy's cards.
  11. 4.  Would a new suit be of even greater value?
  12.  
  13. *I do not use suit preference in no trump except
  14. when I lead two different suits.  If I lead high
  15. in the second suit, I want the first suit
  16. return.  If I lead low I want the second suit
  17. returned.
